On FightinG and FrogS

Jus found out tonite one of our friends in the blogosphere was diagnosed with lung cancer. He says he will keep "fighting" and we are all praying for him.

It took my best friend from me a little over a year ago.
I was with him when his time came to "go Home".
For some reason, it made me think of this parable. I'm not usually keen on the self-help, motivational little ditties...but this one...well excuse me..but I wanted to share it.

There once was a bunch of tiny frogs,...
... who arranged a running competition.

The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.

A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the
contestants...

The race began...

Honestly:

No one in crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of
the tower.

You heard statements such as:

"Oh, WAY too difficult!"

"They will NEVER make it to the top."

or:

"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"
The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one...

... Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and
higher...

The crowd continued to yell,

"It is too difficult- No one will make it!"

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up...

...But ONE continued higher and higher and higher...

This one wouldn't give up..

At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one
tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top...

THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog
managed to do it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed
and reach the goal?
It turned out...

That the winner was DEAF.

The wisdom of this story is:

Never listen to other people's tendencies to be

negative or pessimistic...

...because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you --
the ones you have in your heart.

Always think of the power words have.

Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions.

Therefore:

ALWAYS be..

POSITIVE.

And above all:

Be DEAF when people tell you that you can not fulfill your dreams.

A MoraL VictorY

Not a moment too soon!

The Left has really cornered the market on hate. There are several organizations and efforts to get Americans not to tune in to President Bush's State of The Union speech. They are scheduling their little hate fests instead, where they can freely condemn, bash and spew venom (poison secreted by snakes) toward the President of the United States of America.
For a complete schedule of the rage-aholics the anti Bush Regime crowd

Just to name drop..among those planning to participate in rallies and such are Cindy Sheehan, Al Sharpton, Bianca Jagger and Gore Vidal. Hmmm. Nuff said.

There was a time in our history when this was unheard of.
Are these protestations emanating from righteous, sincere town criers who are waging a true war for our nations'future? Do they seek to protect the very fiber of our republic?

If I believed for one moment that they were ..I would say More power to them..Go ahead..rekindle the revolutionary spirit of our founders.

What I see, however, predominantly in the Liberal community and most likely in those participating, are people who support a free press (cough cough), which has become nothing short of a propaganda machine, educational institutions which predicate themselves on the views of a Godless, secular state, entertainers and an entertainment industry which worships the almighty dollar and spreads promiscuity and decadence.

These same people have shown utter comtempt for our President as well as the legacy of freedom they inherited from our very first President. To me the vast majority of liberal thinkers represent the anithesis of everything for which our Founding Fathers fought and often died for.

Perhaps they got so caught up in pursuing "happiness", they forgot about the "Life and Liberty" part.

As for me, I won't abandon the legacy of my forefathers.
I don't ride the wave of moral relativism.
I can hardly wait to hear what utterances come forth from a leader who proudly says :God bless America"..and actually means it.

ZZZZZZZZZZZ's

More Teens Can Name the Three Stooges Than Can Name the Three Branches of Government.
More teens know the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air than know the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
More teens know which city has the zip code "90210" than the city in which the US Constitution was written.
More teens know who starred in the motion picture "Titanic" than know the Vice President of the United States.

For the detailed study:
National Constitution Center Survey

Whoever hasn't heard about the absolutely dismal performance records of American public high school students just hasn't been paying very close attention.

Schools are no longer places of education; they are warehouses, detention centers and sophisticated day care centers.

And now ..thisssssssssssssssss...
USA today's opinion of the day: Let high school kids sleep later. Start the school day later to accomodate the exhausted teens and wala!..their performance will rise!

No more falling asleep at their desks during morning class, more attention and concentration..just like that!
The details are at USAToday

Just what teens need more of these days: self indulgence and accomodation.
So when they go off to college (provided they can even read the entrance application), or when they enter the work force, they can just assume if they party till 2AM, the boss will just allow them to show up at work ..at say...noon?

If wev'e given up on providing an extensive education, the very least we can do is make a feeble attempt to build character. Lowering standards is not only scandalous..it's downright shameful.

After all won't the teens of today be governing themselves one day..not to mention some of them governing others as well?

On second thought - maybe they'll just "sleep in."

Ballroom Dance: The NakeD TrutH

Sexual explicitness has so become the norm that most don't give it a second thought..or do they?

At the beginning of the 20th century, immodest images of women in public were virtually unheard of in this country.
Women ballroom dancers swept across the floor in elegant, floor length hemlines.
By the 1920's, even displaying a woman's knees was still considered taboo. By the 1950's, petticoats and tulle were all the rage and hemlines became shorter. In the 1960's chiffon and semi-sheer fabrics were introduced and even more of the ladies' legs were visible.
Gradually dresses became shorter and shorter and more and more form fitting and snug owing to the introduction of stretchy fabrics.

In the ensuing decades, women were routinely dressed sexily and whether we choose to admit this or ourselves or not- fashions do dominate our perceptions of popular culture and in particular of women.
Dance movements have become overtly erotic, suggestive and at times simulate sex itself.

The Methodists may not have been too far off when they observed and actually offered warnings in the 18th century that dancing is "stylised sex."

Prior to the 17th century, men and women danced alongside each other, not even face to face and the extent of the physical contact would be that they may have touched hands with arms outstretched.
Can you say "Wev'e come a long way Baby?"...Well that all depends on where we wanted to end up.

Nearly every experience we have in society- has become 'sexualized'. Sexuality , we are told is "a natural characteristic" of which we should feel no shame..and certainly no modesty.

But I ask you, just because sexuality may be a natural desire, is it then legitimized in all contexts?..when going to a movie, is it approriate to view explicit sex scenes, when going to a concert, must the male and female background singers and dancers dance provocatively and in a way that encourages a sexual atmosphere?

It is a given that one criterion for a girl or woman to attain stardom in this century is that she not need have any particular talent, but she must be willing to sexualize herself.
What was once shocking in the pop industry, the flagrant promiscuity, the degradation of morality, the attire ..we have now come to expect.

Ballroom dance was once synonymous with the epitome of sophistication. In times past, ballroom dancing was the "social dancing" of privileged classes. The woman wore a stunning, flowing, long gown; the gentleman a suit or formalwear.
Latin and swing dancers wore shorter dresses or skirts but dresses nonetheless.

What passes for womens'dresses in Ballroom dance today does nothing but objectify women.
This "practically naked' look, we are told is "empowering" to the woman dancer.
We all value her stunning, scantily clad form as she moves across the floor. Rrrright.

This exhibitionism will have one certain result: Every healthy male who watches this woman dance will think of her sexually.
He may not notice a single dance step but her half naked body will not escape him. The tacit message is being sent.

Distracting men with a half naked female body (and it IS a distraction) is the hallmark of the entire advertisement world. But... Turning girls and women into 'eye candy' actually contaminates the dance form and lowers it to some biological exhibitionism.

Dancing should be judged by relative merit..not how well the dancer appeared in her bikini top with the sheer sarong wrapped around her waist to make it appear as though she were actually dressed.

Who set this "new bar" for womens' attire..or should I say "lack of attire" in Ballroom dance?
The objectification of women damages women emotionally as well..Yes, they may seem sexy and risque'..but notice..men are still dressed in a dignified manner, even if their costume is form fitting.
No one would mistaken him for being in his bedroom clothes. Not to mention that women don't react to the physical the way men do...so seeing a man half naked doing ballroom dance is not a sight most women would even want!

What happened to "class"?
What happened to "grace"?

Must everything in the Culture be dominated by sex appeal?

I say: Women put back on your flowing gowns...Bring back the BeautY that is truly WomaN.

Hyphenated AmericanS? I don't think So

Hmmm...I can hear the arguments already..Multi-culturalism is good for America.
Ethnic diversity and cultural differences should be celebrated!..Well before we break out into a "C'mon people now smile on yer brother, everybody get together try to love one another right now" fest...Let's do the hard part: examine facts.

Once upon a time, immigrants actually came here um.."legally"..shocking, I know.
Not only that but they were law-abiding citizens who became self sufficient,(wouldn't dare take hand outs or welfare due to their integrity and healthy sense of pride), worked hard, learned English and even Anglicized their names in some cases to become part of the larger American community.

I am not advocated name changes, but learning English should be mandatory not optional for immigrants. There are now thousands of foreign speaking immigrants (many ILLEGAL),and not only are they not all living together harmoniously - there are warring ethnic and racial groups.
The illegal aliens, HyphenateD Americans some of whom identify more with their own ethnic group than with American culture as a whole. Check the census bureau. There are close to 150,000 "Middle-Eastern Americans" in the U.S. illegally!

And that's UnifyinG?

In many cities, the burden falls on taxpayers who must take up the slack for uninsured patients , who need housing, and soaring crime rates. Not to mention the drug culture.Oh sorry I just did.

Liberals say: Just legalize them all. Oh yes ..brilliant. Let us reward illegal activity and that will CURB immigrants from smuggling themselves and their methamphetamine into our borders?
Congress already tried that in 1986: millions of illegal immigrants were granted amnesty..and since then we have been bombarded with thousands more.

Times have changed, and not only are illegal immigrants a financial burden, some pose a national security threat. What if the "immigrants" who flew planes into the World Trade Center" had been denied visas..Hmmm.

"Al Qaeda sleeper cells are believed to be operating in 40 states, according to the FBI and other federal authorities, awaiting orders and funding for new attacks in the United States."
The Washington Times

Nearly 100,000 illegal immigrants are criminals and have been convicted..that's right I said convicted of rape, murder, drug dealing, and child molestation.
Whatever happened to good ole deportation? Not even for captured child molesters???

The United States does not have to apologize to liberals for its overly generous immigration policy which has admitted more legal immigrants than any other nation in the World.

Every homeowner has a right to have a fence, an alarm system, even bars and gates on their windows.Every nation has the same right. It is high time we go back to controlling our borders...before there aren't any left to control.

MozarT: Now thatS Music!

Happy Birthday Mozart! (January 27, 1756 – December 5, 1791)

Did you know that Mozart's musical ability became obvious when he was 3 years old. Three.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was an extraordinary composer. He wrote in almost every major genre that exists: symphony, opera, the solo concerto, chamber music including string quartet, string quintets, and the keyboard sonata. I can barely play rhythm on my acoustic guitar. Heh.

What some don't know is that the piano concerto was almost single-handedly developed and popularized by Mozart. In addition, (as if the wasn't enough)..he wrote religious music and composed dances.
Some say among his greatest gift was imitating the music he heard. As he travelled extensively, this enabled him to incorporate features of nearly all styles into his music.

It seems there is a lesson in there somewhere.

I know classical music may not appeal to all. Woody Allen once said:
"I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland."
Heh.

But trust me on this one:
My all time fave is Mozart's 40th Symphony. If you haven't experienced it yet..there's no time like the present.

TrutH or ConsequenceS

I guess the question really is How do YoU define "TrutH"?
There are some truths which are purely subjective and based on introspection : "I have a headache", I feel it and that is my truth.
That is quite different from stating the TrutH that the earth is the third planet from the SuN. This TrutH is considered objective, and determined by a combination of shared observations, reasonings, and calculations...unless one has of course actually been on both planets and measured..Heh.

Metaphysical subjectivism holds that we all have some truths with which we are most intimately acquainted based on our own subjective experiences.

Objective truths, however are supposed to be independent of our subjective beliefs or tastes. Such truths exist not in the mind but in the external object.

Our entire judicial system relies on testimony.

Witnesses who swear under oath to testify truthfully in courts of law, are not expected to make completely true statements which are totally infallible, but to make an honest attempt to recount an observed event from their memory to provide testimony.
We have seen that oftentimes what one witness says may differ from true accounts of other witnesses when portraying the exact same event.
Juries and judges are then charged with the responsibility to determine the credibility or veracity of a witness's testimony.

Which brings us to ...James Frey.
Oprah tells Frey he betrayed readers
"A Million Little Pieces" was Frey's alleged memoir of his addiction and recovery.
It came to light that Frey had fabricated parts of his book which his readers and his fellow addicts and recovering addicts took as gospel.
The book, which I have read, is intense. It is graphic. It is dramatic, descriptive and at times gory.

In it Frey describes a three-month jail sentence he now says he never even served. Perhaps you think that's nit picking. Well,he described some combative scenes with fellow addicts in rehab which he now claims were somewhat exaggerated...Again that may not seem so unforgivable. But then there's the most talked about episode wherein he describes in highly specific, gory, using expletives every other word detail- undergoing dental surgery, having 2 root canals, being strapped down without even a drop of Novocain, a story he now claims he "no longer clearly recalls."
Or the fact that he recounts a friend's hanging when in fact her suicide was caused by her slitting her wrists?

Does this sound like an author who is coming in good faith, making a sincere effort to recount events as they truly happened?
Let us put this in some kind of ethical perspective shall we.
This is no ordinary "memoir".
This book had become somewhat of a modern day self-help,inspirational book for addicts and recovering addicts. His experiences which they claim to relate to as no other, his 'mantras', his excruciating, detailed recounting of events and happenings they could so relate to.
And now they discover that he too- lied to them.

It was heartbreaking watching him sit on the Oprah Winfrey show, his head and eyes cast downward- with Oprah practically putting the words in his mouth...Did you lie?
He stammers...and she repeats..but what is a LIE?...He eventually concedes.

The hallmark of Recovery from Addiction is living Truthfully, with integrity not shame...living life on life's terms.
His defense was that he needed a more grandiose image as a coping skill.( Why was he ashamed of who he really was?) So he "embellished" his macho bravado.
Now, many don't believe a word of the entire memoir.

It seems like the tragic case of the Little Addict who cried Wolf one too many times.

I am not here to kick Mr. Frey when he has already been humbled. I truly pray he gets the intervention and help he needs to continue on his JourneY of Recovery.
But if he thinks he can bypass "Truth" to get there...unfortunately for him ..his true sorrow has only just begun.

TerroristS Win ElectioN - How SpeciaL

As any educated person knows.(or do they?).There are no "Palestinians"..so let us just dispense first and foremost with that fictitous name shall we? The word "Palestine" comes from the Hebrew word for the Philistines, and was later applied by the Greeks and Romans to the territory..but thanks for using the Hebrew version,- thats so endearing. One more thing "stolen".
What they are ..are Arabs.

These "Arabs"currently in the State of Israel were under Muslim rule until 1948 as we all know (or do we?)..ah o.k. then quick history lesson. The Arab/Islamic presence goes back to the 7th century A.D. when the region was conquered from the Christian Byzantine empire and remained under Arab Islamic rule outside of the period during the Crusades(1095-1291) when the Latin Christians attempted to re-conquer the Christian holy places back from the Moslems. In the 16th century the Turks (also an Islamic people by the way)conquered the region. You still with me?

The Arabs actually could have had a state in 1948 when the UN proposed dividing up Palestine into two countries one Arab and one Jewish. But needless to say they blatantly refused and invaded Israel instead. Real peace loving eh?
A second opportunity presented itself in 1967 after the Six Day War when Israel actually offered to negotiate land for peace.(What were they thinking?) What was the predictable response of the Arabs? Oh yes - the Khartoum resolution! which incidentally stated "no recognition of Israel, no peace with Israel, and no negotiations with Israel".
Read it and WEEP

Well , isn't that special?

Israel tried yet again in 2000 during the Camp David negotiations( why they call it"camp"-I'll never understand).. the Arabs were offered 97% of the West Bank by Israel..that's right I said 97%!..Arafat stormed out and refused. Things that make ya go Hmmmmmmmmm.

Following on its heels was the ahem "peace loving"..cough speech given by Dr. Ahmad Abu Halabiya on official Palestinian Television on October 13, 2000-

“None of the Jews refrain from commiting every possible evil... they are the
terrorists, they are the ones who must be butchered and killed.”

“Have no mercy on the Jews, no matter where they are, in any country. Fight
them wherever they are. Wherever you meet them, kill them. Wherever you are
kill those Jews and those AMERICANS who are like them...”

More Hatred Spewing

Oh, just in case you think it's only a handful of radicals....the vast majority of the Arab population supports suicide bombings against Israel. Do some homework and check the stats for yerself.

And now:
Hamas won a huge majority in parliamentary elections.
MSN reports
Well that oughta make u sleep some much better knowing that.

Let's not SkirT the ReaL Issue

By now wev'e all heard the breaking news: A male high school student can wear a skirt to school after the American Civil Liberties Union reached an agreement with school officials.
Fox News

I don't know about you but I can sleep much better now.
The district's dress code bans shorts between Oct. 1 and April 15, but allows skirts, a policy which one male student believes is discriminatory. The ACLU rides in on their androgynous horse and poof!..problem solved.
Or has it just begun?

Some will say this is NoT the issue here, but there are many layers to this onion.
Men and women have dressed differently from the dawn of civilization and despite efforts to gender neutralize and androgynize society..they always will.

Why is that?
Some will holler its all cultural conditioning and gender role socialization, and while that plays a part no doubt, the inherent differences between men and women remain inescapable.
There are functional differences between the sexes with respect to world view, behavior, attitudes and even temperament.Ask any parent of sons and daughters.
Sure, there are some exceptions to some of the normative differences but all political correctness aside for the moment..let's talk Facts.

By age 13 a female's muscle tissue consitutes 45% of her total body, then decreases somewhat.
By age 17,a male's muscle tissue constitutes 54% of his total body weight.
At age 16,the total muscle mass of women is 80% of the total muscle mass of man.

Women's bodies average 27% fat. Men's bodies average 15% fat.
While women ages 18-74 on average, weigh approximately 143 lbs; Men on average weigh 173.(Almanac of the American People,1988)

Hormonal secretion in the adult male is continous rather than cyclic, as in the female. It consists primarily of testosterone (a.k.a. the 'macho hormone').Women have two sex hormones, estrogen and progesterone which vary in their relationship at different times.
Do bodily differences and hormonal really differences matter? You decide.

88% of those arrested for murder are male.
Nearly 3,000 women are murdered by men each year.
Nearly 30,000 men are arrested for rape every year.
Over 100,000 men are arrested for robbery every year.
Nearly 89% of those arrested for aggravated assault are male compared to 13% female.
Nearly 89% of those arrested for arson yearly are male compared to 14% female.
It is generally recognized that the experience of sexual harassment is highly gendered. Most incidences of sexual harassment involve men harassing women.
US Merit systems production board

Who are you more afraid of alone in an elevator or in a dark alley..a man or a woman?

Nearly 30% of women dress more conservatively due to fear of crime; 62% of women are afraid to walk at night within a mile of their homes versus 29% of males.

Men comprise 80% of today's Military.
Close to 97% of US Firefighters are male.According to the NY Times, Monday, Jan.23,06-"..in the NYCity Fire Dept., the nations largest..only 36 of the 11,0430 uniformed firefighters are female.
Nearly 89% of police and detectives are male.

Who would you- for the most part- rather have defend you physically ..a man or woman?

But I overstate the point. Men and women are different.
Do the "clothes make the man"?

Women, as a group- have always and will always dress to please men.(hence the really comfortable and utilitarian stilleto heel)
They accentuate thier femininity and adorn themselves in every culture in the world (which allows it). They seek to be desired by the male, which may be an intrinsic quality to some extent.
Skirts have been worn by some cultures for modesty, so as not to reveal the feminine form as closely as pants can.
Some have chosen quite the contrary-wearing skirts to showcase female anatomy, specifically thighs and legs as a means of attracting the male.( the tight micro-mini skirt, hotpants)

Men,for the most part, on the contrary, dress more for utilitarian purposes and less for showcasing specific parts of the male anatomy. Hence the suit and tuxedo at a formal affair and for accepting an Academy Award versus the women's fashion show of form fitting gowns ,with plunging neck and back lines, jewelry, exotic hair styling and make up to enhance the female appeal.

Before you jump down my throat, I am aware that some of the fierciest warriors throughout history have gone to war in kilts. Prince Charles of Wales was often seen in his kilt. Hawaiian men in grass skirts,Middle Eastern men have worn kaftans, Balinese men in sarongs, Turks in wraps.

For daily living, men in western society, have generally never chosen the skirt as an article of clothing.
Furthermore, proponents of an individual-centered and a "gender-different" view hold that men and women dressing differently maintains a sharp demarcation between the sexes, which is actually healthy for gender identification and social functioning.
In other words, boys should know they are boys and girls should know they are girls.

As long as this is not used for misogyny or bias against either gender, it actually sets firm ego boundaries and helps girls and boys feel "normal" when they exhibit gender specific qualities.

But of course the ACLU and the political correctness machine would have you think there is no such thing as gender specific qualities...now wouldn't they?

Open Post over atStopThe ACLU

ExploitinG and TraffickinG our own WomeN:ShamE on US.

The next time you hear someone snicker when they talk about having been to a "strip club".. the next time you hear the ACLU cry out that pornography is Art, and legitimized by the First Amendment..the next time you watch the latest rap or rock video and see nothing but young girls who could pass for prostitutes..YoU really ought to know some facts:

Trafficking of women as well as children for the sex "industry", (as some like to call it) is prevalent worldwide. From a recent CIA briefing, approximately 50,000 women and children are trafficked to America every single year.

But but but...these women in the strip clubs "CHOOSE" this 'vocation'..they make tons of money, you hear the justifiers argue.
DEAD wrong on both counts.

The majority of grievously abused women and children, who some still insist on calling sex 'workers' or better yet 'exotic dancers'..(though what is exotic about peddling flesh for the dregs of society remains a mystery to me..)have been recruited by force, coercion, lies, lured with fraudulent promises of lucrative opportunities, deception and even literal abduction.

Women from Thai, Latvia,Korea, China and Russia are brought(against their will) in droves to the U.S. by men for the sole purpose of working in the sex 'industry' or as sex slaves. Stripped of their passports, often unable to speak the local language, sold as chattel, and terrified of local law enforcement authorities and their traffickers, these women are doomed.

Psychological and mental coercion are used against even young American girls, who have suffered sexual abuse and are fed lies about the 'exotic Industry' they are joining ranks with.
Many young girls initially consent to work as prostitutes or 'dancers' and quickly change their minds upon experiencing the horror. Oftentimes they are then forced to remain via the threats and intimidation of their 'pimps' and 'bosses'.

The same Thirteenth Amendment which outlawed slavery also prohibits one from selling oneself into bondage. If a young girl initially consented to prostitution or stripping and then is forced to remain against her will, her intial consent means nothing. Do not fool yourselves...psychological force is a powerful phenomenon when dealing with young girls who have been sexually abused.

Stripping and Prostitution is not sex work, nor is it sexy. It is violence against women,(whether the sexually abused 18 year old girl knows it or not).
It exists because significant numbers of men are given social, moral and legal permission to buy women and sexual pleasure on demand.
It exists because pimps, owners of Exotic dance 'clubs' and traffickers prey on women's poverty, loss of self esteem and inequality.

It exists because it is a last ditch survival strategy for some impoverished girls and women.
It is not truly a 'choice',-free of coercion -made by a mature mind and heart....at least not in the Western legal tradition that we so honor.

Do you know of any other 'profession', wherein the worker is routinely degraded and objectified?

It is time to stop rationalizing that women dressing scantily clad in music videos, or even at a professional tennis match is somehow 'empowering'..that teaching our young girls that looking like a 'whore' is cool and a mark of feminism.

It is time to start arresting the perpetrators of trafficking and prostitution.

And by God...Let us stop glorifying the Adult Entertainment Industy...and see it for what it is:
Sexual Exploitation and Degradation of WomeN.

We are all the Same...NoT

Asaf Zur was a 16 year old boy killed by a suicide bomber in Haifa on March 5, 2003.This is how Hollywood honors his memory. This week the Hollywood Foreign Press Association awarded the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film to the Palestinian movie "Paradise Now." The film follows the path taken by two young Palestinians from their decision to become suicide bombers, until the moment they board a Tel Aviv bus crowded with children.

Asaf was an eleventh-grader studying computer sciences, who one day after school decided to board a bus in Israel to return home. On the way, a suicide bomber from Hebron, 21 years old and himself a computer sciences student in the Hebron Polytechnic, also boarded the bus and blew himself up. Of the 17 people killed, nine were schoolchildren aged 18 or younger. Asaf was killed on the spot.

Yossi Zur, Asad's father poses an interesting question:
"What exactly makes "Paradise Now" worthy of such a prestigious award? Would the entertainment writers who chose to honor this movie have given the same accolades if the film had been been about the young men from Saudi Arabia who moved to the U.S., took flying lessons and then underwent Islamic ritual preparations for their holy mission to crash airplanes into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon? Would they have dared to give such a version of "Paradise Now" a similar award?"

The Israel Project

We know all too well the message Hollywood is trying to sell.. that the poor, underpriviledged suicide bombers are simply utilizing a legitimate tactic for those who feel they've exhausted all other means of resistance.

We should try to 'empathize', put ourselves in their sandals...After all, deep down inside..We are All the SamE?

Extinguishing the souls of innocent children sitting and playing on a bus..
Murdering mothers and fathers out with their families for an afternoon at Sbarros Pizza...
Maiming and crippling teenagers and elderly folk picking apples in the fruit market...

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association can join ranks with all the liberals, a.k.a. traitors who muster up the indignation to draw a comparison between self defense in war and... the horrific, unforgivable mutilation and cold blooded murder of innocent civilians in Israel,
New York City's World Trade Center, the Bali nightclub, the Amman hotels, the shop in Turkey, the restaurant in Morocco, the underground stations in London, the trains in Spain..and anywhere else they choose to act out their Islamic, ritual slaughter of innocent life.

What do the letters ACLU stand for anyway?

OK..if you need a gentle reminder as to how your 'rights' as Americans are being looked after...seek no more. One of the ACLU's many claims to fame:
Some of you, no doubt recall this:
In May 2005, the D.C. Fire Department announced that it would discharge any firefighter who had a beard. The Department requires firefighters to take a “fit test" to show that the facemasks they wear form a good seal with their faces. The Department says that facial hair prevents a good fit--but it prohibits bearded firefighters from taking the test to show that they can get a good fit..

On August 11, the U.S. District Court extended a preliminary injunction protecting our clients--three Muslim firefighters who wear beards as a matter of religious observance--from being dischared by the D.C. Fire Department, pending a final decision in their case.
ACLU Rationalizations

O.K. so they claimed: "The Religious Freedom Restoration Act" requires government agencies to accommodate the religious needs of employees whenever possible."

Did I miss something ?..Accomodating religious observance is something the ACLU fights for??
Oh..wait...Muslim religious observance.
Well, now that explains it.

As Promised...Guns: What say YoU?

But Do they ReallY?
Should we start with the obligatory review of the Second Amendment..or just dispense with that?
ok a snippet.."..the people shall have the right to keep and bear arms.."

Ok I hear you already..Aren't guns dangerous?..Well in the wrong hands, cars, knives and toaster ovens are dangerous too. Criminals use guns to murder innocents but they also use cars as getaways and terrorists have even been known to use planes to fly into buildings to harm civilians.

You know where I'm going with this don't you?
Perhaps if we focus more on the criminal instead of his "weapon of choice", we would get somewhere. Perhaps if criminals who used guns to commit violence were to actually remain incarcerated, we would get somewhere.

Ok for the stats:
John Lott

86 million people own over 200 million guns in the U.S., but only around 30,000 are involved in deaths each year. That is 1&1/2 percent. So why the gun control laws?

Washington D.C. banned handguns in the 1970's and by the 1990's their homicide rate had tripled.
Do you really think a criminal who decided to commit murder is going to hesitate breaking the 'gun control' law?

Of course another one of the concerns is the safety of our children. Last time I checked, the obligation to protect children in their own homes remains the responsibility of their parents. Sadly, children die in fires, car accidents, even by drowning in the family bathtub. But since when do we legislate based on reckless, inattentive parents?

Gun control laws leave us defenseless against criminals.
Every single year nearly 80,000 civilians use guns to defend themselves against violent crime.
Why does the media never report those incidents?
And why, when women, as a last resort against abusive boyfriends or husbands,-use guns for self defense (oftentimes after a life of abuse and horror)..they are treated like the criminal not the victim?

The Second Amendment confers the right of 'people- of individual members of American society - to arm themselves.

Who can make the claim that we have not the right to defend our very own lives?

If someone has an opposing point of view..please I invite you to politely express it to me.:)

So HOW have things improved In Iraq?
According to MSN and the NY (not really with the)Times ..it would seem that they haven't.

Oh..that's if you don't consider Saddam the madman being caught- Progress..
and some incidentals..such as:

his Ministry of Information being replaced with roughly 200 newspapers...

the fact that in addition to regular schools, Iraqi universities are now open..
Iraq had a court system which is actually operative...
oh yes...let's not forget the new, unified currency WithouT Saddam the madman's pic on it...

Nearly 100,000 Iraqi's have been trained and are able to provide security for their own civilians...

Over 22 million vaccinations have been administered to Iraqi children...
Hundreds of hospitals and over a thousand clinics are open not to mention that doctor's salaries are 8 times more than they were under Sadaam the madman..

The banks which were all closed have service and first-time customers are opening accounts daily.

Iraq did not have a single element of a representative government
Today in Baghdad alone residents have selected 88 advisory councils. Baghdad’s first democratic transfer of power in 35 years happened when the city council elected its new chairman.

The list goes on and on and on...

for a detailed accounting L. Paul Bremer,Coalition Provisional Authority Administrator

I reckon that FreeinG 26 million Iraqis from the tyranny of a madman just isn't noteworthy in the media is it?

While the liberals moan and wail about the "failed" war...perhaps they should scrutinize their own "failed" wars on poverty, the miserably failing public school systems and all the other causes and 'wars' that they just love to give unelected, unaccountable government bureaucrats money and resources to ..ahem...'win'.

What "Flavor" is your CitY?

Mayor Ray Nagin is God's new spokesman.
Not only does he comment on God's wishes with respect to foreign policy.."Surely he doesn't approve of us being in Iraq under false pretenses..".........He clues us in as to how the Good Lord feels about America.
"Surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it's destroyed and put stress on this country," Nagin, who is black, said as he and other city leaders marked Martin Luther King Day. .Nagin promises that New Orleans will be a "chocolate" city again.( Many of the city's black neighborhoods were heavily damaged by Katrina.)-
as reported here-
full story
Err...
Chocolate city? Oh so race discrimation is alright if it's being done for a politcally correct cause, and it depends who's doing the discriminating?
So what would be the proper percentage of 'whites' in "Nawlins" now?
Nagin described an imaginary conversation with King, the late civil rights leader.
Let's see now ...Correct me if I am mistaken here...Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.wished to create a society where people would be judged "..not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.."

Chocolate vs vanilla?..Is that Nagin's idea of a color blind society? Dr. King, Jr.'s aim was to UnitE not to Polarize.
"It's time for us to come together. It's time for us to rebuild New Orleans -.. " the mayor said. ".This city will be a majority African American city. It's the way God wants it to be. You can't have New Orleans no other way. It wouldn't be New Orleans."

What exactly would it be?

Hmm..I wonder where 'mocha' fits in?

Give WaR a Chance

Nobody wants to see American blood shed, nor American treasure spent..but the alternative could be having a nuclear power plant attacked by a homicide bomber or Iran deciding if and when it should use a nuclear device in Los Angeles or perhaps Boise, Idaho. And as Donald Rumsfeld said: "It's better to fight them in Baghdad than Boise."
If anyone needs a check up from the neck up it's Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Only one thing can weaken terrorist global operations..sadly..and that is War.
Killing terrorists in the long run doesn't create more terrorists.
Teaching babies and children that being a suicide bomber helps you go to Heaven..creates more terrorists.
Putting pressure on terrorists' finances doesn't make it easier for them to recruit more terrorists. Depleting their resources so they can not afford to travel, and raise more cash for their "holY" cause does not make it easier for them.
We have a clear choice.
Allow American fighter planes and soldiers armed with aircraft carrier groups -fight the war on terror in the Middle East, or sit in the streets singing Kumbaya with the anti war liberals- and have civilians ultimately try to defend for their lives on the streets of New York or Philadelphia.
You do the MatH.

Do the Crime..Do the Time?..or NoT

Mehmet Ali Agca is actually being considered a "hero" by some. The name may not ring a bell due to the fact that he has been incarcerated for the past 25 years in Italy and then "pardoned" and extradited to Istanbul, Turkey.
I don't blame you for not being able to recite Turkish convicted felons by heart..but this is no ordinary felon.
Agca shot Pope JohnPaul ll in the Spring of 1981. The Pope was struck in the abdomen, left hand and right arm. The Pope's life was saved, according to doctors, due to the fact that the bullets missed his vital organs.
Full story covered by CNN:
CNN Coverage

Not that Agca was a choir boy before the attempted assassination mind you.
He was serving time for the murder of a newspaper editor as well as the robbery of a factory.
Although the Pope publicly forgave the gunman -do we have to? How about the editor Abdi Ipekci's family?..do they have to?
According to studies from the Department of Justice nearly 70% of criminals released from federal prison get rearrested for a felony or misdemeanor within 3 years! Nearly half are convicted of a new crime.
But that doesn't seem to stop those who believe no matter how heinous the crime, the criminal is the one who DeserveS a chance to make something out of his life.
One of the first things Agca allegedly wants to do is have a meal of "beans and rice"..how nice for him. He claims he has found God and is "a man of peace".
Oh, and by the way:
He claims he will speak about the assassination attempt if he is PaiD for it.
Hmmmmmmmm....
Sounds Godly to me.......NoT.

Pot calling the Kettle Black??

Umm..Senator Ted Kennedy standing in judgement of Judge Sam Alito's character?
Do we laugh or cry?
If Judge Alito was even remotely involved in the "Concerned Alumni of Princeton"...then what?
You would think they were discussing the KKK the way Kennedy was posturing with his holier than thou, self righteous indignation.
His finger pointing boils down essentially to a group not wanting Princeton University to lower their academic standards to accept anyone. Whether it's minorities or women is irrelevant actually.
Believe it or not there is a case to be made for eliminating affirmative action. Some believe that suggesting that minorities even need affirmative action in order to succeed implies their inferiority. They need government's hand outs and helping hand because they can't succeed without it?
Qualified minorities will succeed due to their efforts, work and abilities just like their peers.
I'm quite certain Judge Alito is all for leveling the playing field and treating ALL equal under the Law..Not so sure if he would support programs, however, which preferred some over others because of race..no matter what the race happens to be.
But then, Kennedy could accuse him of "racism"...and we ALL know fearful people are of that...why just the mere use of a racially insensitive remark could destroy one's entire career. (Of course, yet again that depends which race you are slighting..)
But I digress......
If anyone is standing in judgement of Judge Alito's character at this time...Please tell me it isn't Ted Kennedy.
Someone pass the KleeneX.

Can u say HypocrisY?

The possibility of Judge Alito's confirmation has the liberals quaking in their boots. Why is it when liberal judges "interpret' ahem...("cough cough") ..the LaW...they are just trying to keep the Constitution a "living" one, simply attempting to adjust to the current and always changing times, despite the fact that time and time again, they use the judiciary to force the public to accept their will?
Judge Alito is being drilled about abortion, when in fact Roe vs Wade is a perfect example of the Supreme Court striking down laws -prohibiting abortion based on something referred to as the "right to privacy"...
Hmmmm..what exactly is that? Did I miss something in the Constitution? Please enlighten me.
Liberal Supreme Courts have no qualms about even contradicting the Constitution's explicit words, -remember 1972 and their attempt to strike down the death penalty? Did they just forget to read the fifth amendment?
Wonder if all those judges were Tookie lovers too.

And now- individual states definition of 'marriage' is being systematically struck down by a handful of judges irrespective of what millions of citizens may think or feel.

But they seem to know what we keep forgetting: theY are unaccountable.. even unelected...so what the heck right?

Censorship is a FouR letter word

Once upon a time there was such a thing as 'shame'.

Humans understood that shame and modesty, particulary in the sexual arena, were a healthy feature of human existence -particularly involving the female body.
Once upon a time people understood the need for some degree of self censoring.
In Plato's Republic he states: 'The poet shall compose nothing contrary to the ideas of the lawful, just, or beautiful or good, which are allowed in the State; nor shall he be permitted to show his compositions to any private individual, until he shall have shown them to the appointed censors and the guardians of the law, and they are satisfied with them.'

Shame and self restraint go hand in hand, therefore a society which encourages shamelessness creates a real political danger.
Political philosophers knew this all too well.
Rousseau in The Social Contract (1762)states;"The opinions of a people are derived from its constitution; although the law does not regulate morality, it is legislation that gives it birth. When legislation grows weak, morality degenerates; but in such cases the judgment of the censors will not do what the force of the laws has failed to effect.

From this it follows that the censorship may be useful for the preservation of morality, but can never be so for its restoration. Set up censors while the laws are vigorous; as soon as they have lost their vigour, all hope is gone; no legitimate power can retain force when the laws have lost it.

The censorship upholds morality by preventing opinion from growing corrupt, by preserving its rectitude by means of wise applications, and sometimes even by fixing it when it is still uncertain."

Have we not seen and are we not bearing witness to MoraL degeneracy?..Have you listened to the lyrics of rap and rock music as of late?..Seen any films as of late? Seen how young girls and women dress in public?

Democracy, in its inception, required self restraint which was to be inculcated through moral education, and LawS. After all , democracy relies on citizenry of good and upstanding character to even function. This sentiment was expressed by Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln. It is a relatively recent historical phenomenon that even Supreme Court Justices care nothing of societal efforts to encourage and promote good character among men, women and children.

OH!..If they censor curse words, lewdess and pornography....What will they censor next!.. is the battlecry of the liberal...So let me plainly say-that it is understood that while necessary and wholesome for governments to promote 'DecencY', when they overstep that boundary and impose ExtremE piety and strictness, they all too often suffer a tremendous backlash, as can be easily observed from the Prohibition period.

But knowing that evil and vices will continue to flourish in secret, despite all attempts to eradciate it, is no excuse for government to openly exhibit it or normalize it.
Opponents of censorship tend to argue for freedom of all expression (even pornographic)-with little or no concern for the effect this has on the morality of the citizens, not to mention the harm and violence it promotes toward women..oh did I mention that?..I guess I did.

We can no longer distinguish art from Trash..we can't even define 'vulgar'and obscenity has become the norm.

The crisis of ImmoralitY exists. Pornography breeds pathology. Images that practically make human copulation indistinguishable from animal copulation are inundating us. Usage of four letter words have become so commonplace, we have almost forgotten why they were brandished to begin with.

In the name of CivilizatioN,I will defend Censorship with all its inherent complications.

Who is it who has undertaken the defense of obscenity?

Pornography Doesn't Hurt People?.Whom are TheY Kidding?

LanguagE shapes our thoughts as do Images. Political and social opinion of the moment seem to be provided by the "liberals." Others are of course reactionary, intellectually deficient, and of course- intolerant.
It appears almost axiomatic and accepted as psychological fact these days that no one can be "conditioned", or moved to action by anything he sees in magazines, on the InterneT,in movies or on television. And if someone is...it is entirely up to him or her to avoid acting out.
The prevailing climate of accepting pornography and its widespread influence as "normal" has even undermined the ability of ordinary citizens, fathers and mothers- to speak out against something common sense dictates is dangerous, for fear of being ridiculed as being "old fashioned" or prudish.
Seeping children and young adults- particulary male adults (who are responsible for "white slavery",who commit rape and sexual torture against men, women and children)..in a culture of promiscuity and subversion ..and then absolving oneself of all social consequences by simply stating "One can not prove the causal relationship..-hence there is no DangeR"-Is at best, coming in bad faith and at worst- the biggest menace to civilization as we know it.
But if decent, humane people who honor women, men, and family don't speak out, what we will bear witness to is not a dramatic collapse of American civilization, - but a gradual anihilistic destruction of the entire existing order.
Society, by embracing pornographY as mere "entertainment", is exhibiting symptoms of disintegration and insidious erosion already.
Pornography is not "speech", contrary to the shouts of the ACLU,who thus demand its ProtectioN by the Constitution. Exposure to explicit portrayal of sexual acts turns its audience into perverse voyeurs oftentimes becoming the means by which sexual addicts act out self indulgent excessive masterbatory rituals and where sexual deviants learn their revolting methods of torture against women and men alike.
Far from providing liberation and cultural EmancipatioN, the proliferation of Pornography which masquerades as "SpeecH" and "ArT"-has given us no lower depth to descend to.
Aided by civil libertarians, the Supreme Court has given the pornography industry a license to operate in the accessible and legitimate marketplace.
It is time to challenge their assertions, to acknowlede the merit of a certain degree of CensorshiP. Contary to modern day liberal thinking, the case for censorship has been made by enlightened, democratic leaders. That's right , I said Censorship.
History lesson to follow.

Roles Shmoles

Well you heard it here first..women are different than men.

Many men seem to have little problem expressing anger-with words, with fists, with guns..
against women, against other men, against other NationS.
What they don't "generally"...(note I said Generally)acknowledge, is the underlying pain or FeaR which causes the anger or rage.
Women seem to be somewhat afraid of Anger, and most definitely afraid of expressing it to Men.
Whereas men in relationships have on occasion been accused of being tyrannical, controlling, hostile and overtly violent, women oftentimes have been known to be placating, excessively aplogetic, and too accepting of unacceptable behavior including infidelity, physical and emotional abuse.
Women will stay in a marriage knowing her husband is sexually unfaithful, blaming the "Other WomaN instead of confronting her own husband.
Is there a man alive who would do this? Cry himself to sleep night after night sleeping next to a cheating wife?..Is there a concept of the "Other Man"?..as there is the "Other Woman"?..or the male equivalence of a "Mistress"?..Of course not.
Women aren't allowed to "have a man on the side" and if their husband finds out she does, he will divorce her in an overwhelming number of cases. In addition, he often becomes violent toward her and her lover. Just the unspoken threat of male violence keeps many women from acting out in ways that many men do.."he would kill me if he ever caught me..."and that is meant quite literally.
The man will not beg, plead, "placate" and assume it is all his fault..he wasn't a good enough husband..he wasn't able to "keep her satisfied?"..his body wasn't good enough?..When have you have heard a man express that form of self hatred?
So...Why do women placate?
Some do it out of sheer fear. Of being kicked, punched, or worse..Heaven forfend..of "being left."
"I am worthless without him." No one else would want me..
This woman derives her sense of value only from the approval of a man..even an abusive one.
She also knows the odds of her finding another MaN may be slim to none...if she is not what society demands women to be....thin, youthful, sexy. What if she is older,or not what society claims is sexually attractive? She doesn't want to be alone and thus tells herself..Don't make waves.
Sure, there are men who are eager to please, and overly ingratiating, as there are womeN who are relentlessly critical and blaming as well as hostile.
But the consequence of the woman being the placater out of FeaR of the man -oftentimes leads to her resigning herself to a relationship in which she is disrespected, controlled, beaten or killed.
Perhaps women need to learn to FumE more instead of crying and sulking. Anger, when channelled properly- can be the FirsT step in finding our true self WortH.

The "B" Word

If you don't know this already may I be the first to inform you of the import of words in the process of learning to Love. Words actually cause an "imprint', if you will...a permanent mark through which all future perception of a child is then filtered.
If pejorative words were used to describe women, the possibility of you being able to truly love a woman will be greatly minimized.
The purpose of words was to allow people to communicate and be drawn closer to one another..but...
Labels quickly substituted for words enslaving people into prejudices, thus distancing people from one another. It became popular to call members of ethnic groups by slurs.."Wop","Chink","Spic", "Kike"....and the one uniquely reserved for women..."Bi_tch".
Any psycholinguist can vouch for how language affects behavior. If words are usually pleasant,a positive environment is created, which reinforces good. If words are particularly caustic and callous, they invariably create a negative environment, reinforcing the bad.
The word "bit_ch" has historically been the most vile, rageful word one could use to describe a woman. It most often preceded male violence toward women.
It has now become commonplace for men and women to refer to women as "bit_ches". For women to have sanctioned this is the ultimate expression of self hate.
The negative stimuli produced by the mere utterance of that word can engender feelings of hatred...and it most often does.
For centuries we have been trying to break down barriers between men and women, and rallying against labels..."bimbo".. "dumb blonde", "dame", "the girl" at the office...These were all viewed , and rightfully so, as signs of the utmost disrespect.
And suddenly it has become cool and socially acceptable to call and allow ourselves to be called "Bit_ch?"
Whether we like it or not, we have been conditioned by negative associations...Words like "Bit_ch" and "Nigger" were born of animosity and exclusion.
They will never evoke feelings of empathy or compassion. They will never be "cool"- no matter who utters them.
Choose carefully,- because when all is "said"and done - You are your WordS.

Women are More EmotionaL than Men..yikes!

Qualities historically associated with males: power, strength, rationalitY,clear-headedness are greatly admired in our CulturE- while those associated with females: emotionalism, intuition, sensitivitY and softness are scorned or looked down upon.
Women become ashamed of their physical bodies, higher fat content..Oh no!...head for the nearest gym and spend hours and days and months and years "toning" and desperately trying to tighten that loose flesh, which is so naturally ridiculed and despised in our enlightened "woman loving" CulturE.
Woman's psychological make-up elicits shame as well. Overly emotional?..hysterical? Mooooooooody?..Take it like a MaN!
Despite the protests of the liberal, "were all the same" propaganda machine, biology has a profound effect upon the psyche. Men's sexuality permits him to take pleasure even at a woman's expense, his relatively uncomplicated sexual make-up and superior physical strength lend themselves to a certain posture in LifE.
With respect to women, men have at times been aggressive, sexually violent and violating, as well as condascending and patronizing. On the high side, they have been protective, chivalrous, and financially supportive to facilitate woman's maternal and mothering role.
WomeN, whose sexuality is immensely more complicated, involving more emotions as well as sensitivity on the part of her mate -can not violate men sexually in the manner that the male can. She does not have a sexual weapon, which can be used to instill fear or submission in an unwilling male partner. Yet she lives in fear of male sexual ViolencE...avoiding elevators when alone, crossing the street when that seedy looking dude is walking toward you, not going out alone at night, looking over your shoulder until you are safe and sound in your vehicle or home...
This fear, in conjuction with her dependence on the male for sexual gratification creates its own posture for the womaN.
Women can not harass men even verbally without the fear of physical reprisal. Women do not react strongly to visual impressions of the male form (hence the overwhelming majority of consumers of the vile pornography "industry" are male).
Imitating men and feigning reactions which are not inherently real for a woman...catcalling men and making believe certain "body parts" are so stimulating just to look at....does not undo years of exploitation and torture inflicted upon womeN through the Ages.
Why is it we don't find men imitating women's StylE? Praising female virtues?..polishing their nails red and ahem...wearing 7 inch stilletoes to try to negotiate city streets? Come to think of it...why do women even wear those?

Women are more EmotionaL.
Always were.
Always will Be.
So next time........Take out your dang Kleenex and celebrate that Gift for mercy sake.

You call ThaT Modeling?

Is it just me- or has the obsession with women using their bodies as capital for exploitation exceeded its wildest nightmare?
There isn't an arena to be found, in which women do not showcase their bodies, in addition to their ..ahem..talent.
Women dressing provocatively, even obscenely- in music videos, in film, in theatre, -in the Arts has become the norm.
Tell me how this newfound "LibertY" so gallantly encouraged by Society - does anything but reduce women yet again to ObjectS?
This affirms her femininity? This affords her PoweR?
Being on display , her body parts scrutinized, commented on by strange men, mocked?
"SexY" is powerful?...How have men and women been duped by this corrosive MytH which in essence leads to the reduction of flesh without spirit?
Have fathers come to believe that this is the inherent value of their daughters? Objects of pleasure and desire?
Funny, I always thought that is what renders her...PowerlesS. But maybe that's just me.
