MozarT: Now thatS Music!
Happy Birthday Mozart! (January 27, 1756 – December 5, 1791)
Did you know that Mozart's musical ability became obvious when he was 3 years old. Three.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was an extraordinary composer. He wrote in almost every major genre that exists: symphony, opera, the solo concerto, chamber music including string quartet, string quintets, and the keyboard sonata. I can barely play rhythm on my acoustic guitar. Heh.
What some don't know is that the piano concerto was almost single-handedly developed and popularized by Mozart. In addition, (as if the wasn't enough)..he wrote religious music and composed dances.
Some say among his greatest gift was imitating the music he heard. As he travelled extensively, this enabled him to incorporate features of nearly all styles into his music.
It seems there is a lesson in there somewhere.
I know classical music may not appeal to all. Woody Allen once said:
"I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland."
Heh.
But trust me on this one:
My all time fave is Mozart's 40th Symphony. If you haven't experienced it yet..there's no time like the present.
