SkiierS, Sledders and SnowboarderS - Yowwwwwwwzahhhh!!

N.Y. NortheasT Slammed by Major SnowstorM..ahhhhhh.

Snow: Stunning- waking up in the morning finding city streets covered in a pure white blanket,
WhistlinG winds swirling the snowflakes,
white CrystalS, icy, melting, slippery, crunching..
Snow-covered trees, a white wonderland,
piping hot chocolate,marshmallows,
lighting the fireplace, burning candles, burning incense,
little children sculpting snowmen, those sparkling silent statues,
or just
snuggling back into bed..ahhhhh.

Despite the Winterland magic, snowstorms, or blizzards, can also be dangerous - howling winds and furiously falling snow can disorient travelers and make navigation almost impossible, which we are seeing on the EasT coast now.

"Blizzard warnings were posted for much of the Northeast and the New York metro area, with predictions of wind gusting up to 50 mph, the National Weather Service said.
An accumulation of 16 to 24 inches in New York would make it one of the top 10 snowstorms in city history, the weather service said. The current No. 10 is a storm in February 1961 that dumped 17.4 inches; the record is 26.4 inches in two days following Christmas 1947."

Hundreds of flights were cancelled,New Jersey Transit suspended all bus service statewide, and More than 70,000 customers were without power in Maryland, according to Baltimore Gas & Electric Company’s Web site. Power was also out at hundreds of homes in New Jersey and on New York’s Long Island.

But ski resorts have had an unseasonably warm winter and anxiously await skiiers saying:"“The best PR is when people look up in the sky ... see the snow start to fall.."

Well, the SnoW has dressed the world ,covered our rooftops, buried our cars, dripped our window panes into long shiny icicles..
There's only ONE thing left to do-
Wax and sharpen those SKI's ..time to bomb down those SlopeS!

We didn't need 2ft. of snow...but that's what we got here in New York. Most of the streets will be cleared by the end of today and schools will be operating normal tomorrow morning.

I just went out and checked the thermometer in the back yard.....88 degrees fahrenheit with a strong, warm wind blowing the tops of the palm trees in the back yard around....the squirrels are stealing tangerines from the tree and the dogs are out lying in the grass....I love L.A.
