EmotioN of the DaY: GratitudE
Are you the type of person who lights a candle or curses the darkness?
Do you bless everything that comes your way, trusting that its meaning will become clear, even if you can't possibly see how in the present?
How do you feel about these?
I have so much in life to be thankful for.
I can be awestruck by the beauty of a mountain view or a sunset over the ocean.
I am grateful for being alive.
I am grateful to a wide variety of people.
If I had to list everything that I felt grateful for, it would be a very long list.
Not feeling overly thankful....
Want to increase your 'gratefulness quotient'?
Include an evening meditation focused on gratitude. Every evening, before you go to sleep, try to come up with a few specific events that occurred that day (as well as some things from life, in general) for which you feel grateful. And yes, even do this on a "bad day".Heh. You may surprise yourself with what you find.
"If you can't be thankful for what you receive, be thankful for what you escape."
-Unknown-
"If the only prayer you say in your life is "thank you," that would suffice."
-Meister Eckhart-
Sooooooooo my dear friends,...What are YOU thankful for?

Hi Angel,
I was always taught that when one prays you start with what you are thankful for, ask for blessings for others and then lastly blessings for yourself.
I have an incredible husband (20 years together), two very beautiful and talented daughters, a sweet pup, friends, a home, life, work, and knowing that despite her being gone from this life, my mom is still with me.
Thank you, Angel, for showing me that I need to do this more often!

What about those of us who light a candle, but curse the match as it burns our fingers and then trip over the dog who's come downstairs thinking that the power outage will somehow lead to a treat?
